We are pleased to confirm that Sky Blues defender, Jordon Thompson has agreed a new deal with Coventry City Football Club.

The defender has extended his stay with the club until June 2020, with the option of a further year, which would take him to June 2021.

The 18 year-old signed his first professional contract with Coventry last summer, when he graduated from the Youth Academy, having risen through the ranks.

Thompson then went on to enjoy a successful loan spell with National League side, Barrow at the start of the 2017/18 campaign, making nine appearances during his short stay.

He then returned to the Sky Blues and made his first team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy group game against West Bromwich Albion Under-23s, coming on as a substitute midway through the 2-1 win at the Ricoh Arena.

Jordon has also been a regular in Jason Farndon’s Under-23s this year, as he continues his development with Coventry City.
