INTERVIEW: Mark Robins looks ahead to tomorrow's clash with Grimsby at the Ricoh

City face Lincoln in SkyBet League Two...

23 March 2018

Mark Robins says that the visit of Grimsby Town to the Ricoh Arena will be no easy game despite their failure to register a victory yet this year.

The Sky Blues will be looking to distance themselves from the play-off chasers in SkyBet League two as the season enters its final nine games.

“We will concentrate on us. It will be no different to any other game,” said Robins.

“For us it is about having the knowledge to know what we need to do to win a game.

“Grimsby have got some good players. It is seen as a cliché, but there are no easy games. That is a fact.  We need to go out tomorrow and perform.”

City are unbeaten in five, their best so far this season, hitting form at just right time to mount a serious promotion charge.

“The momentum comes from decent performances. We have got nine games to go and we have got to replicate our last five games. Then we will not be far away.

“We just need to enjoy it. The biggest thing for me is to go into these games and enjoy knowing what we have got to do.

“We have worked on various things this week and we are all looking forward to it. We are confident.

“Some of the younger players have not experienced a promotion battle and some of the older players have more of an idea about it. We will be looking to them to lead us through this period of time. There are plenty of challenges to come.

“The league is very close from top to bottom. They have had some decent results this season away from home. There are some talented players there.”

He added: “We are at home again so we have to go in and put in a good performance.”
