An England Talent Day could see disabled young people of Coventry represent the Three Lions!

This Sunday, 25th March 2018, Sky Blues in the Community in partnership with Birmingham FA will be hosting a England Disability Talent Day at Blue Coat Church of England School in Coventry.

The day is open to young people aged between 7-16 with one of the following disabilities: Amputee, Blind, Cerebral Palsy, Deaf (Male and Female) and Partially Sighted, with the opportunity to be spotted by a FA representative and signposted into one of the FA’s Regional Talent Centres.

The event will start at 1:00pm, with a 30 minute introduction and presentation from one of the FA’s National Talent Identification Leads about the many pathways into representing England at age group level.

Following the presentation, players will be part of a 2 hour coaching session, delivered by qualified FA licenced coaches from Sky Blues in the Community, where players will be able to showcase their skills to the onlooking FA representatives.

Sam Flatley, Inclusion Coordinator at Sky Blues in the Community, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for any young person who is a keen and talented footballer to potentially go on and represent England at their age level and disability. It could be the start of a young persons journey into regional or national level football and will give any disabled young person a taste of excellent football training in a elite environment.”

Jasbir Batt, Football Development Officer (Disability) for the Birmingham FA, said: “I’m delighted that the county, in conjunction with Sky Blues in the Community, are hosting the England Talent Day. This event will provide a fantastic insight on how to become an elite footballer.  Until this very day, we may never know that a future England player has been waiting for his/her opportunity.”

If you have a 7-16 year old interested in attending the England Disability Talent Day, then please contact Sky Blues in the Community Inclusion Coordinator, Sam Flatley, via Email: sam.flatley@ccfc.co.uk.
