Developed alongside the Coventry City FC Academy Programme, Sky Blues in the Community are running an Advanced Football Development Course over the Easter Break.
This course is open to 8-14 year olds who are keen to develop their technical and tactical understanding of the game.
The course focuses on the Sky Blues in the Community playing philosophy and principles of play; in possession, out of possession and transition. The Sky Blues Football Development activities takes a holistic approach, use the FA 4 Corner Model and fit in with FA’s Future Player DNA.
The Advanced Football Development Courses are delivered by FA Level 3 Qualified Coaches (UEFA B) who work on the Sky Blues’ Player Development Centres. These coaches also help identify talented individuals for the Coventry City FC Academy. Since the launch of the Player Development Centres, over 400 young players have been invited in for full trials with Professional Football Club Academies and 92 have successfully signed Academy contracts.
There will also be an FA Qualified Goalkeeping Coach present who will work with Goalkeepers to develop their skills before joining the outfield players for further training.
In addition to the Advanced Football Development Course, there will be three Assessment Days (different age groups each day). The assessment days are used to help assess players across the FA Four Corner Model (Technical, Physical, Psychological, and Social) to identify which level of the player pathway best suits the individual player and any new players who attend these days will be invited to join the Sky Blues’ Player Development Centres.
The Advanced Football Development Course and Assessment Days cost £20.00 per day. All days will take place 9:15am-3:00pm at Blue Coat C of E School, Terry Road, Coventry, CV1 2BA (see more details below).
If you book on all three days, you will be entitled to 1 month FREE in the Player Development Centres*
