NEWS: Sky Blues To Hold Open Training Session On Pre-Season Tour

City head out to Alicante in early July...

20 June 2018

We can confirm that Coventry City will host an open training session at the Pinatar Arena during the pre-season tour in Alicante.

Mark Robins side will open the doors up to a training session on Tuesday the 10th of July from 10:30am.

The session will see the Sky Blues squad and coaching staff continuing their preparations ahead of the new season.

Following the conclusion of training, supporters are welcome to meet the players with the opportunity to get autographs and photo’s.

Chief Executive Dave Boddy said:

“We are disappointed that we have not been able to find suitable opposition for a friendly in Pinatar on Tuesday 10th June, so we will be holding an open training session at the Arena for supporters who have already committed to travelling.

"We have chosen to hold the session in the morning to avoid a potential clash with the World Cup semi-final which is on the same evening.

"We understand the frustration and disappointment of supporters, but the reason we announced the tour early was to try and give supporters the opportunity to make plans in advance.

"However, due to numerous circumstances, including the late end to the season at Wembley and not knowing which League we would be in (there are other League One Club’s there at the same time who we could have played had we remained in League Two) and another League Two side changing their tour date, we have not been able to source suitable opponents”

The Sky Blues will also take on David Unsworth’s Everton Under-23s during the pre-season tour.

Coventry will face the Toffees at La Manga on Friday the 13th of July, with kick-off scheduled for 11am.
