The Sky Bet League One fixtures were revealed yesterday morning, as City were handed an opening day match against Scunthorpe United.
City boss, Mark Robins will come up against his former side at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday 4th August, before travelling to AFC Wimbledon in the first trip on the road.
Robins is looking forward to the start of a new season, with excitement building around ahead of the new campaign.
He said: "It's a good start for us.
"We have a home start which is good, against one of my former clubs and now we have the new season to look forward to.
"Excitement builds, we've had a bit of time off, but now the players will be back in next week and everybody is looking forward to getting ready for the start of the season."
Last season the Sky Blues started the season off against Notts County at home, getting off to a flying start with a 3-0 win thanks to a Jodi Jones hat-trick.
Robins admitted it's nice to start off the season with a home game, as City kick-off the 2018/19 season.
"It's nice to start off at home.
"We started at home last season against Notts County and on the back of promotion it'll be nice and we anticipate everybody is looking forward to it.
"We're looking to change things around and improve the training facilities that are in place and the pithces have been renovated.
"There will be some work going on around the training ground and we will be looking to hit the ground running and the players will be ready to start from day one."
