The Sky Blues secured their latest summer addition earlier this week, as defender, Junior Brown put pen to paper on a deal.

Brown agreed personal terms with City from fellow League One side, Shrewsbury Town following the expiry of his contract with the Shrews.

The 29 year-old revealed after a conversation with Mark Robins, he knew that joining Coventry City was an opportunity that he couldn’t turn down.

“It’s been quite a quick turnaround.

“It’s good to get it done and now I can enjoy the rest of the summer and focus and get ready for pre-season.

“It’s a big club with a big history and obviously it’s been in a bit of a situation the last few years, but there is a good manager at the club who I’ve spoken to several times and he’s just filled me with confidence.

“When you go to a new club, first and foremost you speak to the manager and listen to what he has to say and hopefully it resonates with you.

“After speaking to him the first time and listening to what he had planned, his thoughts and how much he wanted me at the club and what he thought I could bring and where the club is heading, it was a great opportunity that I didn’t think I could pass up.

“The club is going in the right direction and there are some great players here and some exciting young players coming through and then following promotion, it’s an exciting time to be part of the club heading in the right direction.

“I’m chomping at the bit to get going.”

Brown, who was part of the Shrewsbury Town side who battled it out at the top of League One suffered a Cruciate Ligament Injury back in October, ruling him out for the majority of the 20171/18 campaign.

However, the defender was on the bench for the League One Play-Off final and now as he returns to full fitness, he is looking forward to get going with the Sky Blues, where he will link up with some familiar faces such as Jack Grimmer, but first, he has a big day tomorrow!

“Knowing players that already play at the club helps you settle in quicker and is a major thing.

“You want to get that chemistry with your team mates and having people that you know can help bed you into that environment.

“I’m dynamic, I like to get forward, I’m passionate and I will give everything for the club when I play and I like to get fans off their seats and enjoy the games and hopefully seeing me play.

“I’ve been out injured for a long period of time and been working hard and watching constant football and not being able to be a part of it has been heart-breaking and so frustrating.

“Now I have the opportunity, I’m fit and ready to go and like I said, I’m just chomping at the bit, but first I’ve got to get married tomorrow and then on my honeymoon and then away we go!”
