Following the announcement on restrictions for match and season ticket sales next season in Blocks 14, 15 and 16, Coventry City would like to acknowledge the comments which have been received via social media, e-mail and verbally.
Coventry City understands the comments and opinions made by supporters, and will hold further discussions with the Police and the Ricoh Arena.
Coventry City Chief Executive Dave Boddy said about the reaction to changes in Blocks 14, 15 and 16:
“There has been much feedback about this change, and some very passionate opinions, and we are grateful for these comments.
“On the back of this, we will be holding further discussions with the Police and the Ricoh Arena.
“As said before, one of the alternatives was closing Block 14 entirely which we said that we did not wish to do – this was the next option to us.
“The changes will be monitored closely during the opening months of the season, and the Police and the Safety Advisory Group will review arrangements at the end of September. There will be increased stewarding and increased ticket checks in these areas for this period too, and supporters still need to be mindful that safety is paramount.
“There are certain aspects of the feedback, such as Season Ticket renewals and Season Ticket holders wanting to buy tickets for friends/family, which we will ask is reviewed with immediate effect and we hope we will be allowed to be flexible with our supporters on this requirement.”
