In the final pre-season fixture before the start of the 2018/19 Sky Bet League One season, Mark Robins side travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Bromwich Albion.

The fixture will mark the inaugural Cyrille Regis Shield clash between the two sides, as the two come together to remember the striker.

Sky Blues boss, Mark Robins, is looking forward to competing in the fixture and is sure this could be the start of a great tradition.

He said: “Cyrille was held in such high regard by both sets of supporters and both clubs and it will be an emotional game.

“It is something which I think could be the start of something that lives on for a long, long time.”

The trip to the Hawthorns also gives a final warm-up for the Sky Blues players before the season kicks off against Scunthorpe United at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday August 4th.

City have lost several players to injuries during pre-season, as well as Tom Bayliss and Dujon Sterling who have been in Finland representing England Under-19’s.

Robins is sure it will be a good game for his side and is hoping they can sign off pre-season with a positive result.

“It will be another good game.” Robins said.

“The pitch will be great and so will the weather, it will be hot and I’m sure there will be a number of supporters turning up for it and then afterwards, there is just one week to go till the season starts.

“So, it’s going to be a really good game and one to look forward too, and a decent one to sign off pre-season with and another step closer to the opening game against Scunthorpe.”
