INTERVIEW: Mark Robins Talks FA Cup Draw

The Sky Blues will travel to the AMEX Stadium...

30 January 2018

The Sky Blues were drawn away at Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion in the Fifth Round of the FA Cup last night.

Mark Robins side have got past Boreham Wood, Maidenhead United, Stoke City and MK Dons so far during their run in the competition and have been handed a tie at the AMEX Stadium next up.

It will be the first time that the two sides have met since 2011, when City beat the Seagulls 2-0 at the Ricoh Arena.

Following the draw, Sky Blues boss Mark Robins said he thought it was a good draw and was looking forward to the trip down south.

He said: “It’s a good tie, its Premier League opposition and we will take a big following down with us to what is a great stadium to visit.

"It will be a nice place to go and play football and Brighton will try and do exactly that, play football and they are a good team.

“They have a good manager, so it will be nice to see Chris Hughton again and the people at Brighton. It will be one to look forward too.

“It is a great stadium to visit for supporters and I’m sure they will snap up tickets as soon as they are on sale, so we will look forward to another FA Cup game with a big travelling support this time against Premier League opposition.”
