PREVIEW: Mansfield Town v Coventry City - The Sky Blues look to get back to winning ways

Mark Robins' side head to the One Call Stadium...

23 February 2018

The Sky Blues look to get back to winning ways as they head to the One Call Stadium in Nottinghamshire to face Mansfield Town.

Last time out, Mark Robins’ side were beaten by Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion in the last sixteen of the Emirates FA Cup, a fourth defeat on the bounce in all competitions.

Mansfield come into this one having won five of the last six and with defender David Mirfin (knee) the only player missing for Steve Evans’ side.

City will assess Captain Michael Doyle in the run up to the fixture. Doyle picked up his injury in the run up to the away trip to Forest Green Rovers and has been fighting back to full fitness ever since.

Tony Andreu (ACL), Jodi Jones (ACL) and Tom Davies (collar bone) all continue their fight-backs.

The Opponents

Former Bury and Barnsley forward Danny Rose will be one to watch tomorrow. The 24-year-old has scored 14 goals already in the league this season, attracting plenty of interest from across the Football League.

Joel Byrom is another to keep an eye out for in midfield. The hard-working central midfielder helped Northampton Town to promotion from SkyBet League Two in 2016 and also won back-to-back promotions with Stevenage prior to that.

Likely Mansfield XI

Logan (GK), Anderson, Bennett, Pearce (C), Benning, King, MacDonald, Potter, Hamilton, Rose, Hemmings.

W – 5-0 v Newport County

W – 3-1 v Barnet

W – 3-2 v Cheltenham

L – 1-4 v Cardiff City

W – 3-1 v Carlisle United

W – 2-1 v Morecambe
