Over 40kg of weight was lost at week one of the new MANvFAT Coventry league as guys from across Coventry and Warwickshire play football and lose weight together.
MANvFAT is an innovative weight management programme using football to lose weight. The unique aspect of MAN v FAT Football is that players weigh in before every game.
This means the final results are decided not just on the score on the pitch, but as a result of goal bonuses that teams earn from their weight loss.
This enables players with limited mobility and disabilities to join the teams and still be a top performer for their side, simply by losing weight each week.
Nathan Isom, Health Manager at Sky Blues in the Community, said, “MANvFAT is an exciting way for men in Coventry and Warwickshire to lose weight whilst playing the beautiful game and being supported by other men through online forums and WhatsApp groups. Because final match scores are calibrated by weight loss as well as the scores on the pitch anyone can get involved, regardless of their football ability.”
MANvFAT Coventry takes place at Blue Coat School on Monday evenings.
The final few spaces for this league are filling up fast, so to get register for the league head to https://www.manvfatfootball.org/coventry and register your place.
