NEWS: Changes to matchday arrangements following fan feedback

19 December 2018

Following on from the feedback from fans on Saturday and Sunday in relation to the Luton Town match, Coventry City, the Ricoh Arena, and West Midlands Police met on Tuesday morning to de-brief in the regular post-match meeting that takes place.

Feedback was discussed at length and following the feedback no checks will be conducted by stewards within the stadium bowl during upcoming fixtures.

Ticket checks will continue as fans enter the stadium, as standard at all stadiums, and before kick-off in the concourse area to help fans make their way to the correct blocks.

Fans will see other changes in relation to steward positions on match days from the Charlton game onwards.

Nicki Pollard from Coventry City, Paul Cook from the Ricoh Arena and Sean Cockerton from West Midlands Police are going to attend briefings before the Charlton match to fully brief all stewards directly about the changes, and matchday stewarding as a whole. If poor behaviour and overcrowding occurs in blocks 14,15,16 then the checks will unfortunately be required to return – thought this is not what anyone wants.

Barriers in Car Park B will remain, all three parties have agreed to remove the bottom couple of barriers so supporters can cut along the bottom of car park B to have access to the A444.
