UPDATE: Latest on Max Biamou Injury

Max suffered an injury against Blackpool...

24 August 2018

Coventry City can confirm that following Tuesday night’s clash against Blackpool, striker Max Biamou has suffered a tear to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).

The striker sustained an injury in the opening minute of the game at Bloomfield Road and was immediately replaced.

Following scans, it has been confirmed that Max has suffered a tear to his ACL and he will now prepare for surgery in the coming weeks.

After hearing of the news, Sky Blues boss Mark Robins had this to say in his pre-match press conference earlier today:

“It’s a devastating blow.

“Once he went down with that injury and the way he went down, you feared the worst and it has been confirmed.

“It’s a big disappointment and is now a big challenge for Max to work as hard as Jodi Jones and Tony Andreu have to come back and to come back stronger.

“He’s in remarkably good spirits considering the nature of it and he is going to miss a lot of football, but I think that’s testament to him and his belief that he will come back stronger.

“He has got a long period of rehabilitation to come, but I know he will be up for it and work hard and we will make sure he comes back as strong as he possibly can.”

Everyone here at Coventry City wishes Max a speedy recovery and good luck with his surgery and rehabilitation.
