We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Derby County winger, Luke Thomas, until the 1st of January 2019.
The loan agreement will see Luke eligible to play in the New Year’s Day fixture against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park.
Luke began his career in the National League with Cheltenham Town back in 2015 and caught the eye of Derby County, who secured his services for an undisclosed fee in 2016.
Following a loan spell with Gloucester City during the 2016/17 season, Thomas returned to The Rams and featured in the under-23 side, winning Premier League 2 Player of the Month in September.
A few weeks later and Luke would make his debut for the County first team, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers.
Another appearance for first team followed later that season, before the winger signed a new four-year deal for Frank Lampard’s side earlier this month.
Having been amongst the substitutes in Derby’s opening Championship fixtures, Luke is now linking up with the Sky Blues, as he looks to continue his development under Mark Robins
Upon completing the loan agreement, City Manger Mark Robins had this to say:

"He is still a young lad at 19 and we are looking forward to working with him and helping him to continue to develop and improve whilst he is with us."
