Sky Blues latest summer signing Conor Chaplin spoke of his delight at finally getting the deal done to join Coventry City.

The striker has joined City on loan, with a permanent deal agreed for when the Transfer Window re-opens in January.

Following the completion of the deal, Chaplin spoke exclusively to the Sky Blues about joining Coventry City.

He said: “It feels very good.

“A lot of relief, because it’s been coming for a while now as lots of people know. It feels good to finally sort it and just focus on the football now.

“I know a few of the boys here anyway and there’s a lot of good players here.

“I spoke to Marc McNulty last year, he had a great season and he said that the gaffer got the best out of him and helped him.

“That's something I want to do, I know I need to get better and I want to get better, I want to learn and I think that's what I want to learn from the Gaffer.

“Speaking to the gaffer I think that he's someone who will be able to get the best out of me.”

Conor, who joins from Portsmouth, admitted he had been waiting for the deal to be completed and also spoke of the support he has already received from the City supporters and what they can expect from him when he puts on the Sky Blue shirt.

“I've been tagged in a few things by fans on Twitter everyday, so it’s good to see and I'm just looking forward to playing in front of them now.

“First and foremost I like to give everything.

“I like to work hard and try my hardest for the team and for the lads and for the manager.

“Secondly, like most strikers, I want to score goals and that's something that I can hopefully show."
