OFFICIALS: Referee watch versus Crawley Town

Lee Swabey the man with the whistle on Saturday...

11 April 2018

The match officials have been confirmed for Coventry City’s away game against Crawley Town.

It’s a 3pm kick-off at the Checkatrade Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and Lee Swabey will be the referee for the SkyBet League Two fixture.

The referee from Devon has officiated 16 games this season, handing out 51 yellow cards at an average of just over 3 per game – with one sending off ordered by Swabey in those fixtures.

This will be the first Sky Blues game that Swabey has taken charge of in the 2017/18 campaign.

The last time he refereed Coventry City was 2-2 draw with Doncaster at the Ricoh Arena on 28th November 2015, when Adam Armstrong and John Fleck goals were cancelled out by a Nathan Tyson brace. On that occasion, six bookings were noted in the referee’s notebook – all for the visitors.

That was the Plymouth born official’s first season as EFL referee, having been promoted to the Football League list in June 2015 to become Plymouth’s first league referee in 30 years.

The assistant referees for the Crawley clash will be Stuart Butler and Kevin Howick, while the fourth official is Louis Marks.
