INTERVIEW: Stuart Beavon previews the Sky Blues' game against Exeter City

22 September 2017

The Sky Blues welcome the Grecians to the Ricoh Arena looking for their third straight victory in League Two at home...

The visitors are yet to taste defeat in League Two this season, and come into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory against Crewe Alexandra last weekend.

Beavon said: "I think the performance we put in last weekend was probably the best of the season so far, so that's particularly disappointing we didn't come away with something.

"As the games go by It seems we're getting better and better as a team, but of course it wasn't the result we wanted. I think it is something we can be encouraged by heading into this weekend.

"We know we're not far away, hopefully a few tweaks here and there and we'll be able to put together a few wins."

After the injury to Marc McNulty, Beavon has partnered Duckens Nazon in attack for the past two league fixtures, and is hoping it won't be long before the goals start to flow.

He continued: "It's a big disappointment for myself so far, obviously everybody wants to score. I'll just keeping working hard and one will go in soon.

"You have to put any missed chances to the back of your mind, you want to score from every opportunity. Sometimes you go through little spells, so hopefully I can get one tomorrow.

"We're creating chances, which is a good thing, but we need to start finishing them off. We all know as long as we're creating it is going to click before long."
