Sky Blues strikers past and present were among the winners at the Coventry and Warwickshire Sports Awards on Thursday night at the Ricoh Arena.

Jordan Ponticelli, who scored his first goal for the club on Tuesday night, topped off a memorable week by taking home the Professional Young Sportsperson of the year prize at the prestigious awards evening.

At the conclusion of the evening, legendary former City striker and manager Bobby Gould was recognised with the Lifetime Achievement Award, which was met with a standing ovation from the 400 guests at the Ricoh.

Coventry City Under 18s side were nominated for team of the year, which was presented by Steve Ogrizovic, but just missed out on the prize, while former striker George Thomas was also a finalist in the Professional Sportman of the Year prize.
