Striker Marc McNulty opened the scoring, before substitutes Jordan Shipley and Duckens Nazon found the back of the net too.
There were opportunities too for Liam Kelly and Jordan Ponticelli, who made his first start for the Sky Blues.
Luton were the highest scorers in England's top four divisions, but the Sky Blues defence stayed firm to keep a clean sheet - number 10 for the season so far for Mark Robins' side.
