Over 70 Sky Blues Football Holiday Camp award winners enjoyed half-time pitch activities at a recent home game.
The Exeter City home fixture on Saturday 23rd September was designated as Sky Blues in the Community’s first Football Holiday Camp Winners fixture of the season. Over 70 children attended the match with friends and family, who were also treated to a fantastic 2-0 win for the Sky Blues.
Children who won awards from across the 3 SBitC Football Holiday Camps (Bedworth Oval, The Alan Higgs Centre and Bablake School) during both Whitsun and the Summer Holidays were invited to The Ricoh Arena to enjoy a skills and shooting practice session on the pitch during the half-time interval with Sky Blues Coaches.
The sun beamed down on The Ricoh Arena as children aged 5-12 showed off their fancy footwork, best skills and even took penalties against the Coaches!
Sky Blues in the Community Premier League Sport Manager, Neil Kelly, said: “It was fantastic to see so many families at the match and the children all seemed to enjoy themselves on the Ricoh Arena turf.
"Organising activities for 70 children was challenging, but our Coaches take great pride in rewarding improvement, respect and quality at our holiday camps and we are keen to offer as many children as possible the opportunity to benefit from a match-day experience on the pitch.”
Sky Blues in the Community’s next Football Holiday Camp takes place during the October Half-Term from Monday 23rd to Friday 27th October 2017.
