Premier League Kicks project, delivered by Sky Blues in the Community, continues to provide opportunities for local young people

Premier League Kicks is a national flagship community programme which uses the power of football and sport to inspire young people in some of the most high-need areas in England and Wales.

In Coventry, thanks to funding from the Premier League Charitable Fund, Sky Blues in the Community provide regular activities for 8-19 years olds in priority areas of Coventry.

As an expansion to the regular Premier League Kicks sessions, Sky Blues in the Community have formed four sports teams for the young people attending the project to represent the Sky Blues in competitive leagues.

Continuing to build on success, Sky Blues in the Community have created one U18 Football team, two Basketball teams for U15 and U17 playing in the Midlands Youth Basketball League and one Netball Team playing in the Coventry League.

Sky Blues in the Community work with a number of partner organisations on the project, including: the Premier League Charitable Fund, Moat House Community Trust, West Midlands Police and Coventry Solihull and Warwickshire Sport – who have all been influential in creating these opportunities for the young people.

Last year, in Coventry, the Premier League Kicks project engaged over 1,000 young people and provided opportunities to gain qualifications, volunteering and other experiences too – including a trip to the Emirates Stadium to play football and have a stadium tour.
