NEWS: Sky Blues to mark Remembrance Weekend

Matchday activities take place against Mansfield this Saturday..

8 November 2017

The Sky Blues will be welcoming collectors from the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to the Ricoh Arena when we face Mansfield Town on 11th November, as we mark Remembrance Weekend.

The club will also be present at the Remembrance Sunday service at Coventry’s War Memorial Park, where a member of the squad will lay a wreath on behalf of the club.

Members of the armed forces and appeal volunteers will be selling poppies around the Ricoh on Saturday afternoon ahead of kick-off.

Members of the Armed Forces will be represented on the pitch before the game along with the President of the Royal British Legion Coventry and there is a minute's silence ahead of kick-off.

Meanwhile the Sky Blues squad will display the poppy on their shirts.

As with all Sky Blues home league matches, serving members of the Armed Forces will be able to get reduced price tickets at the concession rate.

Every £1 you donate for a poppy goes towards a wide range of services and support for our veterans, service men and women and their families. You can learn more about the work of the Royal British Legion HERE, or on Twitter @PoppyLegion.

As well as at the Sky Blues’ game at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday, there are a number of other ways you can donate to the Poppy Appeal.
