City look to cap off what has been a fantastic season for the Sky Blues' Under-18s side...
Under-18's Coach Jason Farndon looks ahead to the young Sky Blues' trip to Bramall Lane in the National Championship Final.
After a hugely successful season for the Under-18s, topping their division by four points after winning fifteen of their previous sixteen matches, Farndon is hoping to cap off the season by being crowed National Champions.
With victory against Sheffield Wednesday at the semi-final stage, City now face the Owls' close rivals, Sheffield United. "They've worked hard for this all year, we've had a little bit of a rollercoaster season, but we've ended it unbelievably.
"It has been a outstanding back end of the season. The boys were quite eager to be best and most successful side in the club and we became very insulated. We've got a very good team ethic, they work really hard.
"Football is a great thing, we got a little bit on continuity and momentum and we just kept on winning games. We also went on a run of keeping nine clean sheets and at any level that is fantastic.
With many of the Under-18s squad featuring for the Under-23s throughout the season, Farndon is hoping that experience of playing inside a stadium will help them come tomorrow night.
"There is always that concern of the players freezing on a big occasions, but I've been lucky enough to be apart of three really big games against Manchester City, Arsenal at the Ricoh and now this fixture.
"It will be one of the biggest games in their careers. Chris Camwell made his first-team debut in the final game of the season and others have played at the Ricoh for the 23s.
He added: "It is a winner takes all type of game, there are no second chances. We've been focusing on ourselves, not letting the players look to much on the opposition and hopefully we'll put in a good performance."
