Signed by Gordon Milne from German Side Cologne, Roger Van Gool was born in Nieuwmoer, Belgium.
He made his debut in a 2-0 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion at Highfield Road having signed for £250,000, and plied his trade down the right wing with his socks rolled down to his ankles.
In the two seasons he spent at Coventry, the Belgian made nineteen first-team appearances, but failed to find the net before a move to Belgian side FC Antwerp.
