8 June 2017

Born on this day in Ards, Nothern Ireland, Willie Humphries was a key part of the Sky Blues' Division Three championship-winning side.

Humphries cost Jimmy Hill £5,000 in May 1962 when he signed and went on to make 126 first-team appearances, scoring on 24 occasions.

A lightening quick winger with an excellent delivery, Humphries also made 14 Northern Ireland appearances during his career.

Jimmy Hill later sold him to Swansea where he spent three seasons before returning to Ards and a career in management.
