The City boss has been speaking to the Coventry Observer about his January recruitment drive…
Russell Slade has confirmed that the club are close to a deal for another forward, having already acquired the services of striker Stuart Beavon from Burton Albion.
The 32-year old scored on his Sky Blues debut, and the manager has now confirmed that the club are in the market for another frontman to boost attacking options.
He said: “We’re very close to bringing one striker in, there is an agreement in place. We were hoping to get him in this week but we’re having to wait a bit longer but in principle the deal has been agreed.”
Slade has further confirmed that two trialists will be watched in City’s U23s encounter with Crystal Palace on Monday afternoon, having been in the building since the beginning of the week.
He added: “Both players will be analysed on Monday when we’ll take a look at them and see how they do against Crystal Palace.”
