PRESS WATCH: “I’ve decided to take a closer look at the other two players who are a bit younger than Samba.” - Coventry City’s Russell Slade

26 January 2017

With just five days left of the transfer window, Slade is looking to add more faces...

The Sky Blues boss has emphasised that he is still looking to strengthen his squad ahead of Tuesday's 11pm deadline.

First Team Manager, Russell Slade has insisted his side need to add more attacking threat, having brought in several players in defensive positions so far this window. He also explained the reasoning behind the decision to let Samba Diakite go following a brief trial with the club.

Speaking to the Coventry Observer, Slade said: “It’s getting close to the end of the window but we’re still looking at doing business, we’ve not had the firepower to throw at teams but hopefully we’ll be able to address that over the next few days.

“Wide midfield and central midfield are positions we want to fill and hopefully we can get the right players in with the right attributes.”
