Mark Robins' side welcome Boreham Wood to the Ricoh Arena in the second round of the FA Cup as they look to avoid a cup upset.

"It is a great competition and we say it all the time,” said Robins.

“It is a Sunday game, so the weeks preparation has been slightly different, but we are looking forward to it.

“This is a great chance to get to the first round and I think they fancy it, so it should make for a good game. We need to make sure that we do not slip on a banana skin and we need to make sure these are not one of those.

“They beat Blackpool in the last round. I think, admittedly they were talking about how the game could have been beyond them before they scored the goal and they made them pay for it.

“They have got a lot of players in there with league experience and some decent footballers. I have read the comments of their chairman and they are all excited by it.”

The Wood have amongst their ranks a number of former Coventry City stars including Blair Turgott who had a brief spell with the Sky Blues in 2015 after joining from West Ham United.

“They have got some experienced players and some really good younger ones as well. Turgott stands out because he scored the winner last time.

“Shaun Jeffers is another one who used to be here, he started his career at Coventry.

“Bruno Andrade is another one and Angelo Balanta has been good coming off the bench too at times, so they have got a lot experience and a way of playing.

“The key for me is to make sure we attack. There were a lot of good things in the game on Saturday and we want to start on the right foot, so will they too.

“We really want to go for the jugular so that it what we will be trying to do from minute one. From now on we need to start the first half the same way we start the second.”

He added: “This is one of those games where we have to go out and put on a good performance and I want the players to go out and enjoy it as well as winning the game.”
