Coventry City were 3-2 winners over Wycombe Wanderers on Friday night.
Michael Doyle's stunning 40 yard goal opened the scoring in the 14th minute, before Marc McNulty's tidy finish put the Sky Blues two up with 41' gone.
Dan Scarr and a Joe Jacobson penalty either side of half-time brought proceedings level, before McNulty's 55th minute penalty put City back in front.
Roared on by the lively Ricoh crowd, the Sky Blues held on to give Manager Mark Robins the perfect birthday present.
The result moves the Sky Blues up to 4th in the table and one point off automatic promotion, going into the Saturday fixtures.
