NEWS: There are several activities taking place before and after the Sky Blues’ game against Walsall this Saturday

21 April 2017

There are a range of activities taking place before City take on the Saddlers tomorrow afternoon...

The Sky Blues welcome Walsall to the Ricoh Arena for the final home game of the League One 2016/17 season, with lots of activities taking place before kick off.

Youngsters from the Easter set of Sky Blues in the Community holiday courses will be showing their skills on the pitch.

The coaching camps provide high quality football coaching with outstanding value for money for all young players, with a great mix of football matches, games and competitions for kids to enjoy.

At 2pm, with the winners of the Respect, Star Player and Coaches awards at the camps taking to the field.

Under 8s from the CCFC Academy will be signing their first contracts with the Sky Blues pitchside at 1:45pm.

The players penning their deals are: Oscar Jorgensen, Chaavy Nita-Paca, Ivan Boadi, Rei Ghent, Cole Clements, Brooklyn Evans, Josh Grant, Zach Simms and Reshay Codrington.

Good luck to all of the boys with their Sky Blues careers!

The first two cohorts from the SBITC Accelerate project will be receiving their certificates at 2pm.

The project aims to support 900 of Coventry and Warwickshire’s most disadvantaged people to tackle barriers preventing them from entering work or self-employment.

Since delivering the project this year, 13 adults have been helped to access work & training opportunities related to their personal interests, goals & ambitions. As well as this, all 13 have completed a Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership.

Coundon Court FC will be having a stadium tour, meeting members of the squad and waving flags before the game as part of the SBITC Group Match Day Experience package.

Coundon Court Football Club is a much recognised and decorated Football Association Charter Standard Community Club, the first of only 2 clubs to attain such status in Coventry. We welcome players and coaches from their U7 and U11 squads to the game against Walsall.

The package offers reduced-price tickets for adults and children and is open to organisations such as local football clubs, cubs/ scouts/ guides and other community groups.

The Junior Sky Blues Player of the Year will be given their award by one of our young supporters just before kick-off, after voting in last week’s Family Zone and by e-mail.

After the game, the PFA Community Player of the Year Award will be presented to one of the Sky Blues squad by CCFC & Sky Blues in the Community.
