The Sky Blues tasted success at Wembley Stadium, lifting the Checkatrade Trophy after defeating Oxford United.Gael Bigirimana scored the opening goal inside eleven minutes, pouncing on a loose ball inside the six-yard box to fire home. After a period of Oxford Pressure at the end of the first half, City came out strong after the break.
George Thomas doubled the advantage shortly after, finishing superbly from the edge of the area. Substitute Liam Sercombe pulled one back for the U's, but Mark Robins' side held out for a memorable victory.
