INJURY NEWS: "The more playing choices we’ve got, the more likely it is that we can pick a winning team" - Coventry City's Tony Mowbray

The Sky Blues manager has given an update on the fitness of his squad as the club prepare for a trip to The Den...

The City boss has been boosted by the availability of Jodi Jones, but has suffered the loss of Marcus Tudgay and Chris McCann for the trip to South London.

The Sky Blues striker has been taken out of action through illness and McCann won’t be risked after taking a knock against Fleetwood last weekend.

Tony Mowbray said: “Stokes and Rose are of course unavailable. Marcus Tudgay and Chris McCann can be added to that list. It is no different for any other team I don’t think.

“Tudgay has been ill this week and hasn’t trained. Chris hasn’t trained either, I hoped he would be okay for this weekend but we haven’t managed it. The more playing choices we’ve got, the more likely it is that we can pick a winning team.”

He added: “I’ll see how Jodi is after training today, he’s a bit lost when he isn’t playing because he wants to express that creativity. He came through today okay and we’ll make a decision on him tonight.”
