Coventry City Football Club is looking to recruit a Junior Groundsman on a permanent contract, and will work under the direction of the Head Groundsman and Senior Colleagues at the clubs First team training facility in Ryton-on-Dunsmore.
The candidate will also be required to work at the clubs Academy training ground when necessary. Reporting to the Head Groundsman and Senior Ground staff, the successful candidate will perform day to day operations under the guidance of the Head or Deputy Head Groundsman. Experience of working in a football environment is desired but not essential.
The following qualifications are preferred but not essential for the role of Junior Groundsman:
• Hold an NVQ Level 2 (or an equivalent qualification) in Sports Turf Management.
• A clean driving licence.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team with an organised and calm approach to work. They must be enthusiastic, dedicated and a good self-motivator. Possessing a strong character they must be willing to work unsociable hours which will include weekends and have a flexible approach to tasks and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Typical working hours will be 8am-4pm working 5 days in any 7.
