INJURY NEWS: “Andy's got a thigh strain, it's not going to stop him being in the squad tomorrow." - Coventry City's Mark Venus

Mark Venus confirms that Andy Rose is fit enough to be available against Chesterfield tomorrow evening...

Andy Rose has passed a late fitness test ahead of tomorrow night's home tie, having come off early against Walsall last Saturday.

Mark Venus expects to include the midfielder in his squad, but perhaps won't risk him in the starting XI. Fellow midfielder, Vladimir Gadzhev will be absent with a knee problem.

Venus said: “Andy got a thigh strain, it's not gong to stop him being in the squad tomorrow. We’ve got to nurse him through, it is just a niggle. From a medical point of view, it is irritating him a bit.

“Vlad’s knee has flared up, he’s seeing a specialist today. It’s a worry that, if I lose Andy, then I’ve lost three senior central midfield players. Chris has another three weeks or so out, so we need to be wary of the situation.”
