Coventry City Football Club is looking to recruit a Junior Groundsman on a 12 month contract to work under the direction of the Head Groundsman and Senior Colleagues at the clubs Academy facility at the Alan Higgs Centre.
The candidate will also be required to work at the clubs Ryton training ground when necessary. Reporting to the Head Groundsman and Senior Ground staff, the successful candidate will perform day to day operations at the Alan Higgs Centre in the absence of the Head or Deputy Head Groundsman. Experience of working in a football environment is desired but not essential. In the 12 month period if a full time post becomes available there is the opportunity for a permanent role.
The following qualifications are preferred but not essential for the role of Junior Groundsman:
• Hold an NVQ Level 2 (or an equivalent qualification) in Sports Turf Management.
• A clean driving licence.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team with an organised and calm approach to work. Possessing a strong character they must be willing to work unsociable hours which will include weekends and have a flexible approach to tasks and the ability to work to tight deadlines. Typical working hours will be 8am-4pm working 5 days in any 7.
