Coventry City defender Chris Stokes has accepted the FA charge of misconduct.

The 25-year old left-back used an offensive remark whilst commenting on the Premier League match between Chelsea and Tottenham on Monday, May 2nd.

The tweet was quickly deleted and the player tweeted out an apology for the remark soon after.

Stokes has requested a personal hearing where he will be represented by the PFA with a date to be decided.

The club's own internal investigation is ongoing pending the outcome of the hearing.

The club has been in constant contact with the organisation Kick it Out to help and advise the Sky Blues and the player on the situation.
