PROFILE: All you need to new about Coventry City's latest signing, Bulgarian international Vladimir Gadzhev

Coventry City have signed the services of Bulgarian international Vladimir Gadzhev on a permanent deal until June 2017, with a one year optional extension offer.

PROFILE:

A product of the Levski Sofia Academy, Gadzhev joined Greek side Panathinaikos in 2004. He had three loan spells away from Panathinaikos, before signing for the Levski Sofia senior side on a permanent basis in 2009. 

Gadzhev played regularly in his first season with Sofia, making 23 league appearances and collected his first A Group title winner's medal at the end of the 2008–09 season. He went on to score 21 goals in 143 appearances for Sofia.  

Gadzhev also has UEFA Champions League and Europa League experience with the 26-times Bulgarian champions, and has captained the side in his seven year stint.

The 28-year old midfielder has been capped 25 times for the Bulgarian national side, making his international debut in November 2010 in a friendly match against Serbia. 

He has scored one goal and claimed two assists for Bulgaria, with the goal coming against Belarus, in a 2-1 win as Gadzhev scored a headed winner.

Most recently, Gadzhev was involved in Bulgaria’s 2015 European qualifying campaign - claiming a 56th minute assist in a 1-0 win over Malta.
