Sky Blues boss says he is ‘as responsible as anyone’ as City lose 1-0 against Colchester United at the Ricoh Arena…

Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray says that ‘everyone is looking for answers’ as the Sky Blues lost 1-0 to Colchester United on a cold night at the Ricoh Arena.

A Gavin Massey first half strike was enough to secure the three points for the U’s as City remain in the top half of League One.

Mowbray took some accountability for the recent slump in form and warns that his side need to play better in upcoming games against Gillingham and Wigan.

“It’s another flat performance,” he said. “It is so disappointing. In the second half we huffed and puffed, they never threatened us but we never threatened them.

“It just feels like the season’s petering out but it can’t, because you can’t play like that in these games coming up against Gillingham and Wigan.

“The penalty is one of those things where you might go on and win it if it’s scored, but that’s another penalty missed.

“If the player who next takes one doesn’t put his foot through it and smash it, they’re getting taken straight off.

“It’s a common theme of the last few months, we just aren’t scoring enough goals. And I’m as responsible as anyone for what’s going on, we’ve got to look for answers. Look for answers and keep going.”
