The City left-back has been ruled out of action for up to a month with a knee injury, after being stretched off against Blackpool last week.

The 25-year old is the latest addition to the list of injured defenders Mowbray has had to contend with this season and with Reda Johnson and Jordan Willis still ruled out, the City boss has confirmed he is looking for a solution.

“With 10 games to go, we probably need to look at potential additions and we are in that process,” Mowbray said.

“We have thought and talked about getting cover, going back into the loan market and bringing Ryan Haynes back from Cambridge.

“We have got Ricketts who is very flexible and can play anywhere along the backline.

“Thus we have decisions to make about what we are going to do with Sam and where we think he might be best suited, and what areas we are going to bring people in.”
