Venus looks to secure new signings on long term deals as the Sky Blues build a squad for the future...
Coventry City FC Technical Director Mark Venus has been speaking to the Coventry Telegraph about bolstering the Sky Blues squad ahead of the upcoming 2016/17 season.
Venus is responsible for liaising with clubs, players and agents with regards to potential Sky Blues acquisitions and is confident of bringing talent through the door over the coming weeks and months.
He said: “We want to sign marquee players, players who are going to stay with the club for years and help us get the job done. We have first choices. I don’t like having second and third choices because sometimes they are not as good the first.
“If we got the players we want I think people would see the way we are trying to build the football club. We want to sign players on long contracts, back our judgement and back them to be here for years as Coventry City footballers.”
