PRESS WATCH: “It's good to have footballers back in the building, I am sure they'll be keen to get started.” - Coventry City’s Tony Mowbray

30 June 2016

Tony Mowbray has been speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, as the Sky Blues players return to training for day one of pre-season...

The Sky Blues squad are due to report back to Ryton today, in a months worth of preparation work ahead of the League One kick-off on August 6th.

The City team have been given precise fitness programmes to follow over the summer break, with Mowbray expecting his squad to return to training full of energy.

“I would fully expect them all to come back in good shape,” Mowbray told the Coventry Telegraph.

“They won’t have lost that much fitness or come back in a really poor state, I’m pretty sure of that. We’ll do some tests with them, have a good chat and let them get a feel of the ball again.

“We’ll introduce them to a football after a month or so without one. Footballers enjoy coming back on day one. It will be good to have footballers back in the building and I am sure they will want to get started and we’ll be adding as the weeks go on through pre-season."
