Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has handed a debut to midfielder Stephen Hunt for the trip to Southend United.
The 34-year old comes into the starting line-up in place of James Maddison who drops to the bench against the Shrimpers.
Adam Armstrong, who pulled up in training with a minor injury yesterday, is replaced in the starting line-up by Marcus Tudgay and Gael Bigirimana starts in place of the suspended John Fleck.
Jacob Murphy also suffered a minor injury in training this week with Jim O'Brien coming into the side with Martin Lorentzson and Andy Rose on the bench for the Sky Blues.
Chris Stokes shifts back into the centre-back role to partner Peter Ramage in central defence, with Ryan Haynes getting the nod at left-back.
