Coventry City have sealed the loan signing of Gael Bigirimana from Newcastle United.

The 22-year old midfielder will stay with the Sky Blues until the end of the 2015/16 season, with no recall option on the loan.

Bigirimana impressed during his initial loan with the Sky Blues this season, making five appearances for the club since signing on loan in November 2015.

The Burundi-born player came through the Coventry City Academy and made an immediate impact in the first-team having made 28 appearances for the Sky Blues in his break-through 2011/12 season.

'Bigi' moved to Newcastle United in June 2012 and has also had a loan spell with Scottish giants Rangers.

City boss Tony Mowbray said: "We've been really impressed with Gael since he joined the club on loan.

"Gael has excellent technical ability and has really settled into the environment since coming back, providing us with another crucial option in midfield.

"We're delighted we've been able to sign him on loan until the end of the season and I'm sure he'll have a positive impact on the rest of the season."
