The debutant was disappointed not to get the three points...

Coventry City’s new signing Stephen Hunt was disappointed with the result on his debut.

The former Republic of Ireland international made his first appearance for the Sky Blues in the defeat at Southend, playing the full 90 minutes.

Although he was pleased to make his debut for the club, Hunt was disappointed not to get a win in his first game.

He said: “It’s a disappointing debut in terms of the result but you’ve just got to keep your head down and crack on.

“The result speaks for the mood as we’re disappointed. We’ve got to work a little bit  harder, defend better and not concede goals.

“It’s a disappointing result and we’ll look to do better next week, we have got to keep believing and keep doing things right on the training pitch form Monday to Friday.”

The midfielder, although satisfied with playing a full 90 minutes for the first time this season, he vowed to keep improving to reach full match fitness.

He continued:“I am not going to point fingers in my first game. I just have to keep my head down and worry about my own patch grass.”
