“A big crowd is expected when you go to the likes of the Ricoh, you realise the club you’re up against.” - Burton Albion’s Nigel Clough

14 January 2016

We have had a look at what Burton manager Nigel Clough has had to say ahead of the weekend...

Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough believes City are one of the biggest clubs in the League.

The Brewers’ boss was speaking at his press conference ahead his sides’ clash with the Sky Blues on Saturday.

Clough commented on the size of the club and the strength of the squad stating both were the best in the League.

He told BurtonAlbionFC.co.uk: “A big crowd is expected when you go to the likes of the Ricoh, it makes you realise what kind of club you’re up against.

“I think Coventry are definitely the best team in the league when you look at their squad, with Armstrong possibly being the signing of the season.”

“You only have to look at the players who were on the bench against Walsall, I think the key for them has been the quality of their loan signings.

However, Clough remains confident his team can take the three points on Saturday.

He said: “The Players have done well when they go to the big clubs and the big stadiums.

“The result on Tuesday at Coventry and Wigan were our preferred outcomes and now we have a big month coming up.”
