The Sky Blues looked on course for a point at Leeds United but were denied two minutes from time by Sloth...
Coventry City Under-21s suffered late heartbreak at Leeds United as Casper Sloth netted the only goal of the game.
City looked set to claim a point from Thorp Arch but two minutes from time, Sloth's volley denied the Sky Blues a point.
The Sky Blues started with Devon Kelly-Evans in the No.10 role with George Thomas out with a slight knock ahead of the game.
City were the brighter side in the early stages as Ryan Haynes, playing in left midfield, burst forward to cross for the on-rushing Aaron Phillips but his low shot was well saved five minutes in.
Ten minutes later, it was the home side's turn to test City's defence as forward Jordan Botaka found space on the edge of the area but his effort was well saved.
Ryan Haynes floated a 20-yard free-kick over the bar before the lively Devon Kelly-Evans found space just outside the area but his powerful effort was deflected wide just before the half-hour.
Arguably, the Sky Blues should have been ahead at the break after Haynes nicked the ball off Lewie Coyle to turn inside but before he could place the ball home, Leeds keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell smoothered the ball in the 40th minute.
Leeds came out a different side after the break and dominated the second-half. Ten minutes into the second-half, Kalvin Phillips drove the ball against the crossbar from 25-yards with City boss Tony Mowbray watching on.
City had to defend deep and with 20 minutes remaining, Lee Erwin broke the City defence to burst on goal but Addai got down well at his near post to deny him.
Addai continued to be tested by Botaka and Erwin before Leeds finally got the break-through two minutes from time. Casper Sloth volleyed home from inside the area after Phillips' cross picked him out in space.
