The Sky Blues add a frontman to their ranks as striker Daniel Agyei joins from Premier League outfit Burnley until January ’17…
The 19-year old is the seventh new recruit at Ryton this summer and has joined the Sky Blues squad in training today ahead of the trip to Bradford City on Saturday.
Agyei burst on to the scene with AFC Wimbledon, scoring 35 times for the club’s U18 and U21 sides and was signed by Burnley on a long-term contract in 2015.
The London-born striker made his full debut for this parent club during their pre-season friendly against Bradford City in June this year, before playing 90-minutes in their 2-1 victory over Bolton. The teenager will now take the #9 shirt for the Sky Blues.
Coventry City Manager, Tony Mowbray said: “I’m pleased to have added Daniel to the squad; he is a young player with huge potential and we are confident he can make a positive contribution to our team.
“This club has a good record of getting the best out of young Premier League talent and Daniel will certainly add some power and pace to our attack.
“He has been involved with the team’s training today, ahead of the Bradford fixture at the weekend, and I’m looking forward to working with him during his spell at the club.”
