NEWS: Johnsons Jewellers named Coventry City FC's Official Timing partner

Nuneaton based jewellery company become the club's first Official Timing partners for the 2016/17 season...

Johnsons Jewellers have teamed up with the Sky Blues in the first deal of its kind, as the Nuneaton based jewellers take the title of Official Timing and Additional Time Partner of Coventry City FC.

The Jewellers will have their logo displayed on the scoreboard throughout each home game, and in the event that injury time is announced. Fans will also have noticed their branding on pitchside advertising boards around the Ricoh Arena. 

The company are aiming to bring a touch of innovation to the Sky Blues fan engagement strategy, and have instigated a matchday Twitter campaign asking fans to take selfies at all Sky Blues games this season and send them to @JohnsonsJewel. 

The hashtag to use is #JohnsonsFOTM, which stands for Johnsons Fan of the Month. One lucky fan will be selected at the end of each month to win a watch from Johnsons Jewellers themselves!

Coventry City Commercial Manager, Tynan Scope said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Johnson’s Jewellers, one the premier jewellers not only in the Coventry and Warwickshire area but also throughout the Midlands. They are Coventry fans themselves and I’m pleased to be working alongside them, with the new ideas they can bring to the club. 

“We have introduced the Johnsons Jewellers Fan of the Month on Twitter, whereby supporters can tweet in their matchday selfies and win a watch from Johnson’s Jewellers. This is a great way of increasing fan engagement and I’m sure Robert, Libby and their team will continue to bring new ways of connecting with our Sky Blues fan base.”  

Johnsons Jewellers Director, Libby Johnson said: “We are pleased to announce that we are the Official Timing Partner for Coventry City Football Club!

“It is something we have been thinking about doing for some time and feel that now is the right time to take up that partnership. The Ricoh Arena is only a short distance from us in Nuneaton, and we know many of our existing customers attend the home games regularly. But we would like to get other supporters to know about us as well!

“Like Coventry City we have been around for some time. We have regularly supported local grassroots clubs, but this is the first time we have ever sponsored a much larger club and we are very much looking forward to a promising season ahead.
 
"We hope that the fans will have noticed our Twitter competition that we started at the beginning of the season. Send us a selfie from the Coventry City ground, at an away game or even on the way to a game. The competition will be a great way for Johnsons to engage with fans and we have already received some great entries for August. There will be a best selfie chosen once a month and we will give away a watch to the winner. So we look forward to receiving selfies over the coming months.
