Coventry City skipper passes fitness test after missing a chunk of preseason with a niggling knee problem...

The Sky Blues boss has confirmed that his captain will be available for selection tomorrow, while Jordan Willis has also come through this week's training unscathed.

The 21-year old is nearing a full first-team return, since being sidelined for the majority of the 2015/16 season with a knee ligament injury. Willis has been involved in most of the Sky Blues pre-season campaign and will be looking to continue his run in the side on the opening day of the season.

Summer signing Kwame Thomas has returned to fitness after an intense pre-season with the Sky Blues medical staff, while Kyel Reid has also been out on the grass with the squad this week.

Chris Stokes is still suffering with an ongoing knee injury, picked up in the away fixture against Blackpool last season.

Talking about summer additions Kwame Thomas and Kyel Reid, the manager said: “They are both training every day now, doing their fitness work but you have to be conscious that they have had no pre-season.

“Kwame has been doing a lot of rehabilitation work on an abdominal problem as well as fitness work and it’s football training he needs to do a bit more of now.

“Bottom line I’ll talk to the boy and the medical department to see how he is and how he’s feeling.”
